You may think it's crazy to move in the middle of the year but it's really not. If you look on the bright side the building is cleaner, bigger, and more exciting. Last week our school moved from our east campus back to home to our main building. The old building was scary and a little dirty, but now we don't have to worry about that because here it's cleaner. You also don't have to worry about having gym in the classroom because we have a gym and it has basketball courts, new bleachers, and a new stage. Lastly you don't have to worry about freezing classrooms because it's much warmer now that we're in a new building. This building is 20 million times better than the last building, and I think it's great.

This month in Classroom Champions, Rm 324 has been talking about the Seven Steps to Success. The Seven Steps to Success are Discover, Dive In, Make a Plan, Be Courageous, Believe, Evaluate your goals, and Succeed and Celebrate. On January 31,2013, Rm 324 made a rap about success. It was a rap that represented all the letters in the word success. Our olympian Emily Cook told us these seven steps to success will help us acheive our goals. She told us that if you follow these steps, you will succeed. We also wrote what step was most important to us. Lastly, we wrote steps we needed to take to acheive our goals we set. The goal I set was to become a famous rapper. The steps I will take to acheive my goal are #1 to learn to rap,#2 write my own lyrics, #3 to make a beat to go with my lyrics, #4 let someone famous hear my music, and get signed to a record deal. Those are the steps I will take to acheive my goal.

"I'm Glad We Met"     A Poem by Allyssa Minkiewicz

                                        When I look into your
                                  eye's it's like looking
                                   into the bright blue
                                                 sky.

I hate to see you upset
                                     that's why I'm glad
                                      we met.

                                        When the sun goes down
                                         your eyes shine brighter
                                         then the twinkling stars
in the stars I'm glad we met.

                                          When it's rainy out
                                            your eye's still light
                                            up the world we're
                                             in I'm glad we met.

                                            Even the cold and hottness
                                            won't stop your eye's from
                                              sparkling. I'm glad we met.

Maximum Ride Series VS. Dork Diaries By: Sharleen Banatte

In Independent Reading and when I had free time, I read this book called "Maximum Ride: Angel" by James Patterson. It is about a girl named Max who is a bird kid and she's trying to protect among herself, her flock, and the world. Erasers (who are wolf-humans) are trying to capture Max and her flock back to the school so the people ther cuold do experiments on them and put them in cages. Max would fight them to save her flock and herself. My second favorite book, which is "Dork Diaries" by Rachel Renee Russel, is about a girl named Nikki Maxwell who struggles at her school because McKenzie, the most popular girl in school,  is ruining her life.  Nikki is the least popular girl, but she's lucky enough  to have her two best friends, Cloe and Zoey by her side. My first and second favorite books differ. The Maximum Ride series has a LOT of suspence ( which is what  I love about the book)! , and Dork Diaries includes school drama. What is simialr about these books is that they both have romance in it. You should read these books!

The  Hunger Games V.S Saranormal: Ghost Town By Maisha Menefee

So lately I've been reading the book series "The Hunger Games" and another book called " Saranormal: Ghost Town". The Hunger Games Series' main character is a teenage girl named Katniss Everdeen. The world that Katniss lives in is not good, so she changes it by rebelling against the Captiol. The book "Saranormal" is a little different though.Sara (the main character) can see ghosts! Sara is a twelve year-old who moved from California to New Jersey because of her dad's job. The Hunger Games books take place in the future, so they have better types of technology than in Saranormal, where is Sara lives in the present day.In both books the girls are helping their community. Both books are amazing and they both belong in the Sci-Fi (science fiction) Catergory. If you get the chance, definately take the time to read them!

This year we are members of the Classroom Champions Program. We are one of thirty classrooms in the country that has the opportunity to connect with U.S. Olympic athletes. Through this program we are able to connect with our Olympic athlete Emily Cook as well as other Classroom Champion classrooms to learn! Each month we focus on a different skill. In Novemeber, we learned about Fair Play.  Take a look at  our version of Fair Play!
