Parent Involvement / Volunteers

Northwood Academy Charter School, we recognize how critical our partnership with parents is. Our doors are always open and our staff is always available to work with families. We strive to make sure that our students recognize we are a united team-together we have them in our hands. Please continue to support your child and our school by joining our Northwood community.

Throughout the year, we have many opportunities for parents to volunteer their time, attend school celebrations or participate in a school sponsored event. Please contact us anytime your have a question, idea or concern.

Together, we are stronger!

Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities

There currently no upcoming volunteer opportunities. Check back often for updates!

Volunteer Policy Information

Important Volunteer/ Chaperone Information In order to volunteer in any capacity (including chaperoning trips) you must fulfill the following directives which are part of the Child Protective Law:

The law requires all school employees, contractors and volunteers having direct contact with children obtain clearances (child abuse history clearance and state and federal criminal history checks).

If you need assistance please contact the main office. Clearances submitted within 24 hours of an impending trip will not be processed in time for that individual to chaperone that particular trip. While we encourage everyone to complete clearances, we cannot honor last minute requests.

Community Coordinator

We are excited to introduce our new Community Coordinator, Ms. Camille Urbano. She will be creating opportunities for our students to learn about their community and the need for their services while incorporating families into those events.

Please contact curbano@northwoodcs.org for further information on community events, volunteer work and service learning.
